SINGAPORE : The Education Ministry and the National Arts Council will be collaborating to roll out an Arts and Culture Presentation Grant to schools, including special education schools.
The grant is aimed at supporting the development of arts and cultural activities among students.
The funding support will be available to schools by next year.
Education Minister Heng Swee Keat revealed this to reporters after a concert by special education students on Friday.
He said: "I think arts education is an integral part of our holistic education for all our students. MOE will be working with the National Arts Council to create a presentation award to allow students to create works of art, to create plays and any other cultural forms, and for them to be able to present this in public spaces."
