Minister discusses Nepali tourism in Japan


Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Posta Bahadur Bogati held a bilateral meeting with Former Minister and the Member of House of Representative (Diet) of JapanToshihiro Nikai in Tokyo on Thursday.

During the meeting, matters related to the bilateral relations, tourism promotion of Nepal in Japan and cooperation between Nepal and Japan were discussed, states a press release issued by Nepal Tourism Board (NTB).
Nikai is also President of Japan-Nepal Parliamentary Friendship Association.
Similarly, minister Bogati had a meeting with Masamichi Shodo Kobayashi, Chairman of the Japan Buddhist Federation. During the meeting, Bogati appreciated the role of JBF in Lumbini Development and highlighted the Government of Nepal plan to develop Lumbini as a peace city.
During the meeting, minister Bogati also invited the JBF and its member to visit Nepal and in particular to Lumbini to participate the World Buddhist Conference to be held in January 2013.
The Japanese side has assured the Nepali delegation to support Lumbini as an important place.
During the meeting, Ambassador of Nepal to Japan Madan Kumar Bhattarai, Tapas Adhikari, Deputy Chief of Mission of Embassy of Nepal, Tokyo, Subhas Niroula, Officiating Chief Executive Officer of Nepal Tourism Board were present.
