The river is the result of the
sacred union between two other rivers Kali and Gandaki emanating from the two
different places in Mukti Kshetra- Damodar Kunda and Muktinath respectively.
Particularly because of its holy association with Lord Shalagram, The river has
scripturally been labeled as ‘Vishwapawani’:- the one which sanctifies the
world. According to the holy scriptures of Hindu religion, the glory of having
a single dip at Kali Gandaki is equal to the hundreds of holy dips in millions
of other shrines including Prayaga, Nimisharanyam and Kuru Kshetra. Just like
the Lord Vishnu is the abode of all the Gods in microcosm, so the Krishna
