One of the famous old hindu Naxal Bhagwati temple is known as the Goddess of Durga, lies at Naxal in kathmandu. This is historic temple of Goddess Bhagawati, where are busy inter section of traffic It was built by king Shankerdev in 665 B.S (607 A.D).
It is believed that the Palanchowk Bhagawati, Naxal Bhagawati (in Kathmandu) and Shobha Bhagawati (in Kathmandu) are sisters and Palanchowk Bhagawati. It is very popular for the local people of Kathmandu, both Hindu and Buddhist. There is big sacrifice and festivals in dashain.
This temple is also said to be a secret and rare Matangi temple. Matangi is also known as one of the das Mahabidya. There is ten important goddess shaakti which is known as das Mahabidya.
