Legend has it that the wooden Kasthamandap temple is also known as “Maru Satal”, was constructed out of a single Sal tree. Kasthamandap is one of the largest and oldest temples in the Valley. It is a three-storey pagoda-style temple located at Maru tole, close of Human Dhoka Durbar Square.
