Chapagaon


Chapagaun is a village development community  in Lalitpur District in the Bagmati Zone of central Nepal. It is steeply downhill, through intricately terraced fields of reddish brown soil. Ancient Lichhavi village of Lele with view of terraced mustard fields and bamboo groves to Chapagaon.

 It takes you to Chapagaon in about an hour and a half by local bus. You could also mountain bike to Chapagaon from the Ring Road. There is Vajra Varahi temple in Chapagaon which is popular for wedding parties and picnic sports. An important tantric temple of Vajra Varahi is located here in a sacred grove of trees.  Various naturally sculpted stones strewn about are regarded as images of Ganesh, Bhairav and the Ashta Matrika.
