S’pore, Malaysian co—ops to build cross—border ties
SINGAPORE: Co—operatives (co—ops) from Singapore and Malaysia are working to build ties through a three—day road trip named Wheels Adventure.
The Singapore convoy of one bus and 14 cars was flagged off on Friday morning by Mr Seah Kian Peng, Member of Parliament for Marine Parade GRC, and Advisor to the International Year of Co—operatives (IYC) National Committee Singapore as well as a board member of the International Co—operative Alliance (ICA).
More than 80 members from 12 co—ops are taking part.
They will travel to Kuala Terengganu where they will meet and network with Malaysian co—ops and Angkatan Koperasi Kebangsaan Malaysia (ANGKASA), the national co—operative organisation of Malaysia.
The expedition also aims to promote the sharing of best practices.
