There are several Bhairava temples in the Kathmandu valley. Bhairava is Newars patron God.There  are different bhairav names- Ananda Bhairab (Gyneswor Bhairab),Bagha Bhairava(Tiger bhairav at Kirtipur),Sweta Bhairab,Rakta Bhairav,Unamukta Bhairav,Batuka Bhairava,Akash Bhairava, Kirtimukha Bhairava and Masana Bhairav.
It is believed that Bhairava are brothers of a living goddess of Kumari.One of the famous temple is Kal Bhairava temple in Hanuman Dhoka. Kal Bhairav is one of the largest stone idol in Kathmandu valley representing the terrifying aspects of Shiva. Kal Bhairav God is the god of the Justice in the ancient time. The god that people come to swear.Kathmandu Durbar Square is listed in World Heritage Sites,UNESCO.Kathmandu Darbar square is famous sightseeing spot for  the wood carving and historical cultural and religion.


The giant facade of Aakash Bhairab, which remains hidden behind the caged bar throughout the year, is opened today for the next three days during Kumari Festival. Local Newari ethnics pour the home brewed beer into the mouth of Bhairab and people compete to get a sip when the drink spouts out.
